Message from Ukraine - March 2014

Email to my family from in-laws in Ukraine. Guess they haven't been watching Fox News:

It has been turbulent time for us in Ukraine, as well as our families and friends around the globe. After three months of protests caused by unprovoked violence, corruption and ignorance of our government, late February we finally felt like we were getting back on track, but Russia's invasion in Crimea last week threw us into the new turmoil of dramatic events. Never in my life have I felt this insecure in my native country as I did in the past few days, feverishly looking for hints of what would happen next. Today the sky looks brighter, and I feel extremely grateful to the US government for taking decisive steps to prevent further escalation of this crisis. Through K and L we got messages of support from our extended family in America, and we would like to thank you all for your attention, prayers as well as actions in support of ourselves and our country. We are proud to have such beautiful people backing us on our way out of this international conflict.
